LETU Air Traffic Control Student Wins $5,000 Scholarship

LeTourneau University student Joy Cooper, a sophomore air traffic control major from Paris, Texas, was awarded a $5,000 Airbus Leadership Scholarship from Women in Aviation International.

Cooper said she applied for the scholarship after seeing it posted on the Women in Aviation website.  After being chosen as one of the four finalists from numerous applications, Cooper landed the scholarship following an interview with the communications and human resources departments at Airbus. 

“Joy is a great example of the top quality students we have studying in our aviation programs at LETU,” said Sean Fortier, associate dean of  LETU’s School of Aeronautical Science.  “Joy and students like her give us every confidence that LeTourneau University’s vision statement to claim every workplace in every nation as a mission field is being carried out both now as they are students and in the future as graduates.”
